Termite Control in Camarillo

Are termites eating you out of house and home? Think they might be? Call Cal Termite, termite control in Camarillo! We can help save your home and prevent any further damage.
The first question is what kind of termites do you have? No, not all termites are the same. There are three kinds of termites in Southern California alone. These are the drywood termites, subterranean termites, and Formosan termites. Drywood termites are the most common in Southern California. They like beachy areas. They live in attics and garages. They live in the walls and come in through holes in the wood. They are most active in the late summer and the fall. Subterranean termites, while not the most common, are the most motivated. They can destroy a home at 80 times the rate of drywood termites.
They create mud tunnels under your home, that when found look like it has been the site of an alien invasion, like stalagmites filled with bugs. They use these mud tunnels for shelter from the weather as well as way to get to the wood inside your home. They are most active in the spring. The third type, Formosan termites, have been nicknamed the “super termite” because of how large the colonies are. They easily reach the millions and can cause an inordinate amount of damage in a short amount of time, as little as three months. Because of the sheer size of their colonies, they are extraordinarily difficult to eliminate from an area.
Once we, Cal Termite, have determined exactly what kind of termite is destroying your home, we can decide what to do, treatment wise, to get rid of them and save your home. The best way to do this preventatively is with Cal Termite’s annual or biennial inspections. There are some treatments we apply unilaterally. These include treatments of interior, exterior, and foundation with an eco-friendly pesticide. The one we, Cal Termite, use is Orange Oil. It’s harmless to humans, 95% effective against termites, and we applied both above and below ground.
After that, we get to the custom stuff. To deal with drywood termites, we have an attic plan that includes custom installation and cleaning out the attic. Cal Termite wants to be as thorough as we can with small and dangerous problems like this. Subterranean termites are determined and hard-working nuisances and can cause a lot of damage to wooden structures. One of our treatments is to repair that damage. We, Cal Termite, also have a treatment plan for recurring infestations. Formosan termites are incredibly difficult to remove and keep removed, so we have a specific wood pretreatment plan to keep these repeat offenders away.
